Took a stroll through the annual Canstruction design competition, an event that challenges teams in cities around the globe to construct sculptures entirely of canned foods, which are then donated to charity.

"CAN Mario 1-up Hunger?" uses 3,600 cans of green beans, tomato sauce, black beans, refried beans, sauerkraut, bean salad and sweet potatoes. You might need to step back from the screen to get the full effect.

The goods used are donated here in NYC to City Harvest, which collects food from restaurants and markets for redistribution to those in need.  A reminder to us all in this week of frenzied plenty to lend a helping hand in our communities.
